Ramya Namuduri

I am an incoming PhD student at the University of Maryland, advised by Professor Mohit Iyyer! I was previously an undergrad and an affiliate researcher at The University of Texas at Austin, co-advised by Professor Jessy Li and Professor Greg Durrett.

My current interests are in evaluating and improving creative capabilities of Large Language Models on open-ended tasks, specifically those that are challenging to formalize and quantify. I'm particularly interested in understanding why models struggle to provide surprising and unique responses, and how we can mitigate these issues to build more creative collaborators!
